So my blogging activity has pretty much switched over to facebook entirely. I hated the myspace but facebook is pretty easy and everyone in existence seems to live there too. If you would like to have a glimpse into my life, just send me a friend request.

Religion, Centaurs, and Long Walks.
I haven't posted in awhile and I've been doing a lot of thinking.. so here we go. Lets see.. news! I'm applying for animation positions so that is fantastic. I am daring to live a different life and it feels great. Instead of my previous one where I lived in fear.. wait. I didn't live in fear.. but with a specific fear that sending out my reels defeats nicely. It is like opening your closet door to make the monsters disappear.I'm working on a centaur for my first large Zbrush project. I'm still working on his uv's in Maya but that will be done shortly. Scott Eaton inspired me and I've always wanted to work on one. I've been looking at painted horse for texturing.. hell.. I might have to make several versions.
On religion - well.. lets just say Sarah and I discussed and vented until 1 am last night. I'm surrounded by the Mormon Garden of Eden here so the topic is kind of hard to avoid. Thought of the night.. God created Adam and Eve.. first man.. then woman.. they talk to a snake.. eat some fruit.. get booted out of the garden.. have some sons.. one murderous.. God curses the son and the son is worried about the people he'll meet so God protects him.. what? Then he meets his wife and 'knew' her.. brown chicken brown cow. So where did this wife come from? Who was Cain worried about meeting? God was busy making other people outside the garden? Things are kinda vague in the beginning...
I'm not religious.. my brain gets in the way and that just makes me scared of a lot of other people. Humanism makes a lot of sense.
I have been taking long walks with the dogs.. because they need it. Underneath all the fur was some really fat dogs.. time to dechubbify the puppies.

News and Chiu

Wow.
I would like to say thank you to Bobby Chui. He is an amazing artist but even more so, he is an amazing motivator. I was drawn to Bobby's work when I first happened upon him on CGTALK. I think the first painting I delighted over was a picture of a a boy in a whale suit. I still love it. Anyways, I was slacking the other day trolling though youtube and thought about Bobby Chui - sure enough, he had some videos. I was bowled over; instead of talking about the work he was creating in the videos, he instead speaks about what it means to be successful. He talks about visualizing your goals, working hard, and overcomming the pitfalls we set up for ourselves that prevent us from achieving our dreams.
I'm listening to Bobby's sage advice. Last night I animated and I loved it. I animated for myself and for the joy of art and animation. I worked instead of slacking and got up earlier in the day. I am an animator and I am going to be a professional soon.
Just thought everyone should know.

Jim Erickson is a man Inspiring

I've never been a great lover of photography. I just don't understand what make a great photographer from a good one - I'm not much of a photographer. Or a potter... pottery and photography.. never really had the knack or understanding. But I know what I like and I like Jim Erickson's work. He is truly phenomenal.
